Every year throughout Japan, railroad beds need to be cleared of weeds. In the process of weeding, cables are often cut by mistake—even when working by hand to prevent such accidents. RAILMAN has developed Cable Guard to avoid this problem. The majority of severed cables are vertical lines running out of signal control boxes. Cable Guard hits up against cables and pushes them back to protect them, and, at the same time, pushes down weeds—even bamboo shoots—so they can be cut in a flattened position.
